AME INTERMEDIATE CHOIR 2011-2012
The AME intermediate choir started up in early October 2011 under the direction of Ms. Tisher. We currently have approximately 40 students in Grades 4 - 6 committing to a weekly practice with the intent to sing at various assemblies/performances. Practices are held every Wednesday at 11:00 - 11:30am in the Music Room.
Remembrance Day Assembly - November 10th, 2011
Our first performance in this school year was for the Remembrance Day Assembly. We sang the song "In Flanders Fields".
AME Christmas Concert - December 7th & 8th, 2011
As is tradition at our Christmas concerts, the choir sings the final number. This year's song was called "My Grownup Christmas Wish". This uplifting song brought tears to many listeners eyes - including Ms. Tisher's! The choir did an amazing job - thank you!
Christmas Carol Singing at Orchard Park Mall - December 13th, 2011
The AME intermediate choir sang several Christmas songs in Orchard Park Shopping Center as part of the "Christmas at Noon Hour" program. We arrived by bus and performed in front of over 75 AME parents! (Thank you parents for supporting us!) Great job choir! Merry Christmas!
Harmony Day - February 22, 2012
The choir also sang at our annual Harmony Day assembly. This year, the song was entitled "One Voice" (by the Wailing Jennys) and featured three soloists: Brynn (Gr. 4), Brooklyn (Gr. 5) and Nora (Gr. 6). The choir also sang the "Harmony Day" song which was written and recorded by approximately 30 School District #23 students in January 2011. The song-writing was faciliated by two local singer-song writer musicians - Ryan Donn and Calum Hughes. After the choir sang the song, the whole school sang along in harmony! It was beautiful!
Yours in song,
Ms. Tisher
