Links to Services within the Province of British Columbia

For parents of children with special challenges, there are a variety of Provincial services.  The links below provide additional information:

British Columbia Association for Community Living - The BC Association for Community Living is a federation that advocates for children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities and their families to ensure justice, rights and opportunities in all areas of their lives.

British Columbia Special Olympics - Provides individuals with intellectual disabilities the opportunity to enrich their lives and celebrate personal achievement through positive sport experiences.

Deaf Children's Society of BC - "A Deaf child is a child first" - services to deaf and hard of hearing children, their loved ones, and the Deaf community.

Children with Special Needs - BC Ministry of Children and Family Development - services offered by the Government of British columib to assist and support families and children and youth with special needs from birth up to age 19.

Special Education Association of BC - SEA is a provincial specialist association of the British Columbia Teachers' Federation. The goal of SEA is to promote awareness, acceptance, and personal excellence for students with special needs through communications with members in the educational field and in the community.

Special Education - BC Ministry of Education - The goal of the BC school system is to support the intellectual development of all students, including those with special needs.

Special Education Technology British Columbia: SET-BC is a Provincial Resource Program designed to assist school districts in British Columbia in meeting the technology needs of students with physical disabilities and visual impairments.
