Since UNESCO launched World Teachers’ Day in 1993, October 5th provides an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the role that teachers play throughout the world. At the September 24th public meeting the Chairperson of the Central Okanagan Board of Education declared October 5th to be a day of recognition within the school district.

The Board of Education and staff of School District No. 23 (Central Okanagan) pay tribute to our teachers and acknowledge the invaluable contribution these professionals make to the students in their care and to society in general. Teachers are important role models shaping young lives.

Thank you to all School District No. 23 teachers for your contributions to our organization and our community. We appreciate your indispensable, often challenging, work on October 5th and every day.
