Road Safety Quiz and Prize Draw KELOWNA, BC: For the first time, School District No. 23 has created a short online quiz as an entertaining way to remind the public about the road rules related to student safety. Upon completing the quiz, people can enter their name into a random draw for one of three $40 restaurant gift certificates. “Too often we hear about drivers speeding through school zones or passing a school bus that has its lights flashing,” says Hugh Gloster, Superintendent of Schools. “The last thing we want is to have a tragedy with our students. In some cases, drivers are impatient but in other cases, people have forgotten several important traffic rules related to school buses, crosswalks and school zones.” “This quiz is one of the tools we are using to help remind drivers about the rules of the road. For some, it will have been many years since they prepared for their licensing exam. We hope this quiz and draw will help drivers brush up on the rules. It might save a life and they might win a prize.” To access the quiz, please visit: http://enews.sd23.bc.ca/Safety/quiz.html Thank you to the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia for allowing School District No. 23 to reproduce selected questions and graphics from their Knowledge Test. Thank you to La Cucina Pasteria and East Side Mario’s for their donations, which have been matched by the District. The prize draw includes two $40 gift certificates to La Cucina Pasteria and one $40 gift certificate to East Side Mario’s restaurant. The draw will be held on November 2, 2009. Approved by the Superintendent on October 23, 2009 |
