Parent Information Session
Parents and guardians of students in grades 4-10 are invited to attend an evening information session to learn more about course content for Family Life Education classes. The information session will be held on Thursday, Sept.15 at 7pm at the Hollywood Education Centre Rm 3 (1040 Hollywood Rd.)
INTRODUCTION
Family Life Education classes address different topics in each grade level. In the younger grades, Family Life teachers professionally and factually discuss the physical changes that the children can expect as they approach puberty. In the higher grades, topics are expanded to include adolescent sexuality, decision making, and life-affecting issues common to young people.
- Two School District #23 Family Life teachers present content to every student in grades 4 through 10.
- Grade 4 students receive 1 hours of instruction.
- Grade 5 students receive 1.5 hours of instruction.
- Grade 6 students receive 2 hours of instruction.
- Grades 7-10 students receive 3-4 hours of instruction.
