392009_91021_0.png

School District No. 23 is part of an exciting, new program that lets students, teachers, and staff purchase new Adobe creative software for use on their own computers—at amazingly low prices. The program provides discounts of up to 85% off the Suggested Retail Price (SRP) of commercial boxed products and up to 50% less than comparable educational box products. Four Adobe titles are currently available:

Adobe® Creative Suite® 4 Design Standard
Adobe Creative Suite 4 Web Standard
Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium
Adobe Photoshop® Elements 7 & Adobe Premiere® Elements 7

To purchase Adobe software, you must be, or be purchasing for, a Grade 6 through Grade 12 student or be staff or faculty of School District No. 23. Prices are in Canadian dollars and include one physical install media DVD. Shipping and taxes are extra. All products, excluding the Elements Bundle are available for both Mac and Win. Operating system selection is made at the time of purchase. Prices are in Canadian dollars and adjust with exchange rates.

Full details for students, teachers and staff can be found at: www.software4students.ca.

SD23 Microsoft Software Purchases - for Staff

For District Staff - Microsoft Office Work At Home Rights

Staff in School Districts that are members of the BC Educational Resource Acquisition Consortium and have signed a Microsoft Agreement with ERAC BC are entitled to Work at Home Rights (WAHR) for Microsoft Office. School District No. 23 is a member of ERAC BC.  Eligible staff members are able to purchase a full copy of Microsoft Office for their use at home for work related purposes.

Only knowledge workers within the District are eligible for Work At Home Rights.  Knowledge workers are classified as staff who regularly use a computer workstation and Microsoft Office to complete their assigned tasks.  Generally this has been defined as using a workstation approximately 80% of the time to complete work related tasks.  All professional educators are included in the Work at Home Rights agreement because all educators within the District have access to a dedicated computer workstation.  Non-knowledge workers, such as maintenance, grounds keeping, noon-hour supervisors, cafeteria staff and other non-knowledge workers are excluded from Work at Home Rights.  ERAC has an arrangement with the Learning Resource Center (LRC) in Alberta to provide online ordering and distribution of media for WAHR.

For full details and how to order, District staff should log on to FirstClass and go to the District Knowledge Base.  The District Learning Technology Knowledge Base is located in All Staff in the Learning Technology conference.
