British Columbia Ministry of Education Information
Integrated Resource Packages - The BC Ministry of Education sets the standards of learning for Kindergarten to Grade 12. These standards are outlined in the Integrated Resource Packages (IRPs) which constitute the provincial curriculum. IRPs contain standard-based learning outcomes and achievement indicators for each subject area.
Grade Collections - Grade Collections are a subset of previously recommended resources and newly identified resources that most closely match BC prescribed learning outcomes. Grade Collections provide broad coverage of the learning outcomes.
Achievement Indicators - To support teachers in assessing provincially prescribed curricula, new IRPs now include sets of suggested achievement indicators in relation to each learning outcome. Achievement indicators define the specific level of attitudes demonstrated, skills applied, or knowledge acquired by the student in relation to a corresponding prescribed learning outcome.
Draft Integrated Resource Packages (Curriculum): Public Review and Feedback - Research and consultation form part of the process of revising existing provincial curricula or developing new ones. This link provides access to IRPs under development. Teachers, parents, education partners and stakeholders are invited to provide feedback by filling in response forms, or by forwarding comments to the Ministry of Education.
