Project Placements
- What is a Project Placement?
A project placement is an opportunity for students in School District No. 23 to gain work experience hours in the community.
A Project Placement in most cases
- Involves the student during out-of-school hours;
- Involves the student from the beginning to end, allowing student to see the final product;
- Involves several students at a time and has a community mentor
Art Adventures at Kelowna Art Gallery
Project Placements are set up to include:
- Preparation (interest in area, permission process);
- Orientation or training (by host to familiarize student with project);
- Ongoing mentoring by the community host;
- Evaluation and report (student is required to complete the Project Placement form, which includes a self evaluation and an additional evaluation to be completed by the host).
How does a student access a Project Placement?
The Career Centre in the student's school will have a copy of the Project Placement binder available for students to view. The binder will be updated as placements occur during the school year.
