Career Programs are educational programs that combine related courses with a work component within a particular career sector. They are designed to address the goal of transition to the workplace or further education and training. Career Programs enhance the goal of career development which is one of the three goals of education in the Kindergarten to Grade 12 education system.
Career Programs provide students with the opportunity to participate in career-specific studies and related community-based work experience. They are geared to meet a wide-range of learner needs from exploration of different careers, to preparation for further education and training in a career area, to providing very specific career pathways.
