Academic Assistance
Aboriginal Student Advocates
Advocates at elementary level generally provide in-class student support. Support is offered individually or in small groups. Advocates at the middle and secondary levels provide academic support in the Aboriginal Gathering Rooms and may also assist in organizational and study skills.
Certificated Education Assistants
Students in Grade 1 - 9 are eligible for academic assistance from a Certified Education Assistant under the leadership of the classroom teacher and the school Learning Assistant teacher.
Help is provided in the areas of Language Arts, Mathematics, and study skills.
Teachers
In secondary schools, qualified teachers are employed on a part-time basis to tutor students requesting help. They can be accessed through the Aboriginal Student Advocate in the school.
